About me
Carl is an industrial engineer with a passion for solving complex problems and improving knowledge sharing in healthcare systems. He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge, where he focused on enhancing information flows and collaboration within NHS Estates and Facilities departments. His research drew on in-depth case studies across seven NHS Trusts and a Delphi study involving 165 participants to identify practical strategies for better knowledge exchange.
Carl’s journey with the NHS began during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, when he volunteered at the NHS Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. There, he assessed the resilience of medical oxygen supply systems at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, an experience that sparked his long-standing commitment to improving how the NHS operates behind the scenes.
Having worked closely with NHS teams for several years, Carl is driven by a deep understanding of the system’s challenges - and a strong belief in the potential of technology to address them.

Our vision
Behind every system that keeps our world running, there are teams making it happen. INNEX exists to give those teams back their time, focus, and headspace - empowering them to design, build, and maintain the critical infrastructure we all rely on.
What we do
Our founder story
Carl and Jan met in 2019 during their Master’s degrees at the University of Cambridge. When the first wave of COVID-19 hit, Carl experienced the frontline pressures within the NHS firsthand - seeing the strain caused by fragmented communication and slow access to regulatory information.
Motivated by this experience, both Carl and Jan went on to pursue PhDs at Cambridge, determined to solve systemic challenges with innovation. That journey led to the creation of INNEX - with the vision to support the people who keep healthcare infrastructure safe, compliant, and resilient.
Our core values
Clarity and dependability define our communication and solutions, helping make complex regulations and technologies accessible and easy to understand.
By understanding the challenges healthcare facility staff face, we design tools that address real needs and ease daily burdens.
Working hand-in-hand with users, stakeholders, and partners, we co-create solutions that strengthen the healthcare infrastructure community.
Driven by curiosity and bold thinking, we seek out new ways to challenge the status quo and apply cutting-edge technology to improve the built environment.
